Contribution to the exhibition ‘Walking Stick and Canes’ at the studio designed Emeco House in Venice, CA., and currently on view at the new MillerKnoll gallery in New York. From the exhibition text – ‘As a child i remember an ongoing game with my grandfather who would make a quick move to swat us with his cane should we accidentally, or more often purposefully, pass within range. I like the idea that something which might represent weakness or vulnerability could at the same time present itself as a symbol of strength. It is imagined best suited for formal events or meetings where respect would be welcomed but not guaranteed.’ More on the exhibition which began at the Triennale Museum and MillerKnoll.
